CEI’s In-House Appraisers Complete Professional Course in Repairs on New All-Aluminum Ford F-150 Pickup Truck

Trevose, PA, September 22, 2014 — Fifteen members of the in-house Quality Control team from the CEI Group, Inc. (CEI) have completed I-CAR’s course in collision repairs on the new 2015 Ford F-150 pickup truck, which makes the most extensive use of aluminum of any light-duty vehicle on the road, CEI announced today.

“Auto manufacturers are starting to use more aluminum because of its strength, lighter weight and greater corrosion resistance, but it requires a range of completely different repair techniques than steel,” said Greg Neuman, CEI’s senior manager of quality control. For example, he said, different welding tools and procedures are required, and repairs must be made in a totally separate and contained area of a repair shop to keep the metal free from any contact with steel, which causes aluminum to corrode.

The Ford F-150 – one of the most popular fleet vehicles – is the first American-made vehicle to use aluminum for all of its body panels and most of its internal structural parts. “What’s happening with the F-150 is a harbinger of things to come in fleet, ” said Wayne Smolda, CEI’s CEO and president. “Every fleet and its business partners need to be prepared to deal correctly with the challenges of aluminum collision repairs, and I-CAR’s course is a great way to do it.”

CEI’s Wayne Smolda to Present Fleet Executive of the Year Award at 2014 AFLA Conference

Trevose, PA, August 29, 2014 – Wayne Smolda, founder and chief executive officer of the CEI Group, Inc. (CEI) will present the winner of this year’s Fleet Executive of the Year award next week at the 2014 Conference of the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA) in Las Vegas, Nevada, CEI announced today.

Mr. Smolda will present the award at a special breakfast meeting honoring the association’s award winners on Tuesday, September 9. CEI has been co-sponsoring the award with Fleet Financials magazine since its inception in 2003.

The award recognizes exceptional leadership by managers who have the title of vice president or higher. The winner is selected by panel of judges drawn from the fleet industry. Criteria include cost-saving initiatives, policy-setting, creation of innovative programs, and cultivation of fleet manager training and management. Last year’s winner was Jerome Webber, vice president of global fleet operations for AT&T.

CEI also announced that it has raised its AFLA sponsorship from Platinum to Diamond, the organization’s highest sponsor level. “For more than 40 years, AFLA has been at the forefront in helping to raise the professionalism of the fleet industry,” Mr. Smolda said. “We’re proud to be a member and pleased to extend our support for the benefit of all of those who keep the wheels of business turning.”

Luann Dunkerley of CEI Named to National Private Truck Council Institute Board of Governors

Trevose, PA – The CEI Group, Inc. (CEI) announced today that Luann Dunkerley, national sales manager of truck fleet services and a veteran of the trucking industry, has been elected to the Board of Governors of the National Private Truck Council (NPTC) Institute.

Ms. Dunkerley’s election coincides with CEI being invited to become an NPTC Five-Star Member, one of 30 national companies that provide major support for the organization. Ms. Dunkerley joined NPTC in 2010 and also serves on its safety committee.

The Institute is the NPTC’s continuing education and research arm. As one of its 48 governors, she will be involved in overseeing the Institute’s policies and procedures regarding research, training, education and certification and making recommendations to the NPTC board of directors.

“Luann has years of hands-on experience addressing carriers’ concerns and needs,” said Wayne Smolda, CEI’s founder and CEO. “Her position will enable her to share perspectives with the managers of some of the biggest fleets in the trucking world. We look forward to being an active partner with the NPTC in promoting the interests and expanding the expertise of private truck fleets.”
